Five thousand kilometres

We made it! After roughly five thousand kilometres, stopping at twenty-four towns and cities, we have finally arrived at Esperance.

When we set off from home, we had an idea of where we wanted to go, but no job. Daph’s main aim of this adventure was to visit Rottnest Island and get a “selfie” with the cutest animal on Earth, the quokka.

Prior to setting off, coronavirus was in its infancy. We were leaving home during the bushfire crisis (remember that?), and many people thought that we were crazy. Little did we know that the world would get crazier.

Currently, Rottnest is a quarantine island, where anti-isolation rebels get sent for punishment. Daph has toyed with the idea of catching coronavirus and breaking the law to get sent there, but thought better of it. If Rottnest Island is still off-limits by the time we finish up here, the quokka selfie will have to go back on the bucket list for a later date.

We planned our whole trip with nothing but a dream, just an end goal. We planned as if the nursing contracts were in the bag. We set off, believing that our plans would come to fruition, trusting in The Universe to deliver.

And it did.

If you believe, you will receive. And boy, did we receive!
